Bobby Marten

16U Head Coach

Michigan Bulls Alumnus 2002-2005

Professional Instructor, Bullpen Baseball Academy

Bulls Experience: 4 years

College: Wayne State University

Hometown: Allen Park, MI

Bobby, Michigan Bulls Alumnus, played under Frank Gallagher from 2002-2005. Bobby played 4 years at Wayne State and after being Runner Up Freshman of the Conference in 2003, Bobby would rally off 3 straight 1st Team All- GLIAC nominations. Bobby won the League Batting Title from 2004-2005 and helped Wayne State to a Regional Appearance in 2005 as well.

After playing in one of the better Division II conferences in the country, Bobby moved on to coaching in 2007 where he held the Junior Varsity Head Coaching Position at Allen Park High School. There he was able to work with a few of the current 18u Michigan Bulls players in Joe Battistelli and C.J Maszal.

In 2007, Bobby Joined the Michigan Bulls Coaching Staff as the Head Coach of the 16u Michigan Bulls. This young but extremely talented group of kids has athleticism and depth throughout and looks to be a force in many upcoming tournaments this summer.

In 2008, Bobby's 16U Michigan Bulls Team exceeded their already high expectations.  As expected with a new team the 16's went through an early season slump, but pulled it together to run off a string of wins and capture the 16U KVBSA League Championship.  What makes this impressive is the fact that the majority of the club is made up of 15 year olds.  In addition to the league title, Coach Marten's Bulls finished their tournament season off strong capturing the AABC Micky Mantle District Championship.

Coach Marten has the majority of his team coming back in 2009 as well as the additions of Kevin Conway, PJ Cooley, Brian Evola, Steve Joyce, Jeff Rousseau and Zach Ryder.  Several of these young players are already on their respective varsity squads and the rest of the team will be making a run this year.  By the end of the summer, Bobby's Bulls should be ready to make a run at the AABC Micky Mantle World Series in McKinney, Texas.
