Doug Brooks

Roving Pitching Instructor, Michigan Bulls

Bulls Experience: 6 years

College: Madonna

Hometown: Taylor, MI

Doug, a Michigan Alumnus, played under Frank Gallagher from 2000-2006,  joined our coaching staff 2 years ago. Doug, who played his high school ball at Taylor Kennedy High joined the collegiate Michigan Bulls in 2000. After putting together All League numbers that won an unprecedented 4 MVP awards in high school, Doug went on to Henry Ford Community College where he would later be drafted by the Cleveland Indians. Doug decided to move on to play at Grand Rapids Community College in 2002 which was followed by a year at Wayne State. From Wayne State, Doug went on to Madonna University. At Madonna is where Doug really thrived in pitching, taking experience and the hard work dedicated to him from Frank Gallagher and signed as a free agent with the L.A Dodgers in 2006.

Over the past 2 years,  Doug has spent time with the Ogden Raptors (Rookie Ball), the Columbus Catfish (Class A) and The Great Lakes Loons (Class A). In the off-season, Doug joins the pitching instructors at the Bullpen Baseball Academy and helps out whenever he can. Just this past winter, along side with Anthony Tomey, Doug ran an Velocity Improvement Program at the Bullpen and was a huge success. Many of the players showed immediate gains and we expect many of the same things from him as the Michigan Bulls continue to grow.
